Employment

We can help with a range of issues – whether you are in work and trying to access equality of opportunity in the workplace; or if you have left work through dismissal or resignation.

We can help people with the statutory right to reasonable adjustments in the workplace; or the contractual right to a safe working environment; or the statutory rights to freedom from discrimination and harassment in the workplace.

A full list of the areas that we cover is set out below:

  • Unfair and wrongful dismissal
  • Reasonable Adjustments in the workplace to ensure you can work safely and efficiently
  • Discrimination in employment matters
  • Harassment

Disability Law Service provides a digital legal information platform called WorkRights, which has been developed with funding from the Legal Education Foundation.  The platform provides guidance on reasonable adjustments in the workplace, which employers must make for disabled people under the Equality Act.  The platform will take you through a series of questions to establish your rights, and, where appropriate, provides a template letter that can be sent to your employer.  You can access the platform and find out more here

Current funding means we can only provide full support, including tribunal appearances, for those in the London area.  But we provide basic support for callers wherever you are located.

We can only provide full support for matters which have reasonable prospects of success and when we have capacity to do so.  Unfortunately, this means that we cannot represent everyone who contacts us.

If you wish to contact us about an employment matter please call 020 7791 9800 and choose option 3.  Alternatively you can email us on employment@dls.org.uk or complete the contact form which you can find here.

We aim to respond to enquiries within 3-5 days.
