“I am running for this charity as they have helped my family immensely following my cousin having an accident in her care home. Already paralysed from the waist down, she was in hospital with a broken neck with the fear of her spine shattering, and then required 24-hour care. Disability Law Service has given my family advice and we are so happy that my cousin is back to her bubbly self.”

“I am running for DLS because, as a law student, I understand the importance of legal assistance and firmly believe that everyone in need should have access to it. Training for a marathon has been a life-changing experience for me, and I hope that DLS’s work can have a similarly transformative impact on many others.”

“In 2023, I ran the London Marathon with a stress fracture. I started the race overthinking if I would reach the finish line! Surprisingly, it was terrific! No pain, no hitting the wall. Just 42km of happiness and gratitude for the exceptional vibration of the people supporting on the streets – even on a rainy day! Right after crossing the finish line, my wife told me we were having a baby! 😍
“I’m running the London Marathon for Disability Law Service because everyone deserves equal access to justice—regardless of ability. DLS provides free, life-changing legal advice and representation to people with disabilities who often face discrimination, housing issues, problems at work, and barriers accessing benefits or healthcare. These are basic rights, not privileges.
My experience as a paralegal has enabled me to see that Legal aid has been drastically cut in recent years, and many disabled people are left to navigate complex legal systems alone. DLS steps in to fill that gap. By supporting them, I’m helping ensure that some of the most vulnerable members of our society have a fair chance to be heard and defended”.
